It is an annual parade of Gay pride and culture. It always takes place in the summer in large cities and capitals, but in recent years, in addition to Prague, pride, for example, is not on such a scale, but also in Plzen and Ostrava. The show is widely seen as a demonstration of the culture of not only homosexuals but also other sexual minorities, such as bisexual and transgender people. However, it should not be perceived as imposing the culture of heterosexual society, rather the choice of other sexuality and partners was not always available This is a parade that commemorates the suffering and struggles that sexual minorities had to endure every year. But beyond that, the show will be accompanied by music and exuberant celebrations, inviting everyone, even if not LGBT+. Pride will begin the procession through the city from the center to the open air, where for next week the “Rainbow” camp will be built.
Something terrible during the show.
Of course, even today this is a topic that does not share the consent of everyone. The parade is accompanied by police, whose task is to protect the participants from homophobic extremists. During the pride period, various groups of opponents of the LGBT+ community are formed, trying to disrupt the peaceful course of events. These are usually supporters of so-called traditional families, who fear the fact that today\’s families may no longer consist only of mother, father, and child, but it is possible, for example, mother, mother, child, or father, father, and child. The 2nd largest group of opponents of the parade is homophobes. Homosexuals are those who are frankly terrified by the fact that the same sex can love each other as the opposite sex, but rarely admit it. This is to encourage community resistance. But in our country there was no direct conflict between the camps, so the participants of the parade can calm down. Our celebration is peaceful.
When and where will the show take place?
The Month of Pride is the month when the parade begins all over the world. This is the month of the 6th month. The show begins in the United States, where the community is strongest, and gradually continues further east to Europe. In our country, the date usually comes at the beginning of the 8th month, and Prague has the largest gay and lesbian community in the Czech Republic, so the main parade was always held in Prague. However, it is true that in recent years not only Prague, but also the LGBT+ community of Plzen and Ostrava have held their own marches.
